Enjoying our blackberries!

After our blackberry hunt we washed and froze the blackberries and today we made a delicious smoothie with them.

We had to follow the instructions and we talked a lot about healthy eating then we got to taste it! YUM YUM!

Everyone standing  on the island thought it was nice, everyone on the ground wasn’t as keen but nearly everyone had a try, well done Chestnut Class.

Our first week in Chestnut Class 2017

The children have had a fantastic first week at Ipplepen school and we are proud of each and every one of the children for settling so well into Chestnut Class. In our first week we have:

-played listening and ‘getting to know one another’ games with the parachute

-measured out feet and compared sizes among friends

-each painted a self portrait

-harvested the runner beans and carrots from the gardening area

-listened to some stories including ‘Owl Babies,’ ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’  and ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’

-rescued an owl from a tree

-made a fire engine from large construction

-found and followed giant footprints around the school, which led to a beanstalk

-written and received letters from a giant

-and all had a go at writing our names.

Here are some photos of our best bits!
